At ASP Athletics, we don’t follow trends — we follow how the human body actually adapts.
Game speed draws on durable tissues, efficient force, elastic movement, and adaptability under pressure. Instead of chasing drills, we sequence development.
We measure the outputs. Our focus is developing the capacities and movement skills that help create them.
Explore the development frameworkBuild the capacity to handle training through appropriate loading, recovery, and consistent progression.
Develop strength and coordinate how force is applied, absorbed, and redirected.
Develop the ability to store and release energy as the task demands, connecting each contact to the next action.
Connect movement with perception and decisions so skills can meet the changing demands of sport.
Deceleration is a force management skill.
Slowing down is part of game speed. Athletes need to absorb momentum, control their posture, and prepare for what happens next.
We look at the whole braking sequence: the approach, successive ground contacts, and the transition into a new direction. The ankle, knee, hip, and trunk work together. Posture and the amount of braking change with speed, turn angle, and the task.
For parents: look for controlled, repeatable movement and a clear next action. Progress the challenge with a qualified coach.
